We are a small, independent UK publishing team run by Andrea and Emma, helping ordinary people turn important stories into real books.
Good books do not always begin perfectly. Often they begin with one brave idea, a life experience that deserves to be recorded, or a story that has waited years for its chance.
We make publishing manageable: explaining the next step, shaping the work carefully and treating the author behind every manuscript as a person—not a production number.
Affordable by design
A small contribution to a substantial partnership.
We do not believe you should have to spend hundreds or thousands of pounds simply to give your book a chance.
For new manuscripts we accept, the one-off £100 commitment fee is a small contribution towards the real work, preparation and practical costs involved. It helps keep our service sustainable without turning publishing into an expensive package.
Mills & Burch continues to invest substantial time, experience and hands-on support, while you invest in your project by staying involved and helping promote your finished book. We also continue to work on an agreed royalty-share basis.
Acceptance is selective, and the fee does not guarantee publication. We agree the work, responsibilities, royalty arrangement and fee clearly before anything begins.
